In 1997 a research and development department was introduced to meet the growing market of technical protection fabrics. New qualities were introduced - Marlan, Lux, Stark and Antia. These fabric types are now exported worldwide to industries requiring flame resistance, molten metal splash protection, high visibility, anti-static and anti-acid qualities, and they meet all the relevant European Norm Test Standards.

Marina Textil S.L. achieved the IS 9001 Certificate in 2001.

With new investment in 2002 Marina Textil S.L. opened a new factory in the Barcelona area which brought together manufacturing, administration, design and logistics.
