ISO 15384 Firefighters

The aim of this standard is to provide the minimum performance requirements for the protective clothing designed to be used during long periods in the fight against forest fires and similar.

This clothing should be light, flexible and adequate to the risks that forest workers or firemen are exposed; it should be effective and should not produce any thermal stress to the person.

This standard specifies two test methods and the minimum performance requirements for the clothing designed to protect the body of the person, except for the head, hands and feet. It is not designed to give protection during the fire surrounding. The standard covers the garment design, the minimum level of performance of the materials used and the test methods to determine these levels.

Resistance to water-vapour EN 31092 ≤ 10 m2Pa/W
General requirements
Dimensional variations ISO 5077 ± 3%
Reflecting and fluorescent performance EN 471 Total area of the garment  > 0,2 m2
