EN471 High visibility

This standard specifies the characteristics of the clothing designed to visually warn the presence of the worker, so that he/she can be detected under risk situations, under any daylight or under the lights of a car in the darkness.

The test methods offer a minimum level of protection when the instructions for the care of the garment are observed.

Dimensional Variation: <3% warp and weft (5 washing cicles).
Colour fastness to ironing: 4-5 for the degradation and discharge 4.
Colour fastness to dry cleaning: degradation 4.
Colour fastness to dry and wet rubbing: degradation 4.
Colour fastness to bleach: degradation 4.
Colour fastness to washing: degradation 4-5 and discharge 3.
Colour fastness to sweating: degradation 4 and discharge 3.
Water-vapour resistance: < 5 (m2 · Pa) / W.
Water permeability: < 0,15 (m2 · Pa) / W.
Breaking load  > 850N in longitudinal sense and > 650N in transversal sense.

The chromatic coordinates shall be placed in one of the areas defined by Table 1 and the factor shall be higher than the corresponding minimum value of Table 1.

The colour after the exposure to the xenon shall remain in the areas defined by Table 1. The luminous factor shall not be lower than the minimum values of the table.
