EN1149-1 Electric Resistance Electrostatic properties. Surface resistivity This standard is part of a family of test methods that determine the electrostatic properties of the protective antistatic clothing to avoid the formation of sparks which could cause a fire. The requirements may not be sufficient in those environments enriched with oxygen and this method cannot be used for the fabrics with fibres with a core conductor. This standard does not apply for the protection against electric tension. Test: A sample is placed on an insulating base plate. Then, the electrodes assembly is placed on the sample, a direct contact potential is applied and the resistance of the fabric is measured. The fabric should accomplish that any resistance, at least on the surface, does not exceed 109 Ω.
